En ce jour de la fête de l’icône de la Mère de Dieu de Koursk, j’exprime mes cordiales salutations à vous tous, vous souhaitant l’aide céleste et la protection de la Très bénie Vierge et Mère de Dieu. Devant cette sainte icône, nous prions aujourd’hui pour notre troupeau en Europe occidentale. Revenu de Moscou, je m’empresse de m’adresser à vous, mes chers pères, frères et sœurs.

Le Synode des évêques de l’Église russe hors-frontières, qui s’est réuni en séance élargie à l’occasion de l’Assemblée des évêques de l’Église orthodoxe russe, consacrée au centenaire du rétablissement du Patriarcat en Russie, a examiné avec minutie la situation à la cathédrale de l’Exaltation de la Croix à Genève et a écouté tant les membres de la commission épiscopale, que l’archevêque Michel de Genève

Après avoir discuté de la situation sous tous ses aspects, les évêques ont considéré conciliairement, en vue de la paix ecclésiale, de maintenir le diocèse d’Europe occidentale sous l’omophore du Président du Synode des évêques, et de nommer l’archevêque Michel évêque-vicaire avec le titre d’ «archevêque de Meudon ». Cette décision remplit toutes les conditions pour rétablir la paix et commencer une nouvelle période dans la vie du diocèse d’Europe occidentale. S.E. l’archevêque Michel servira à l’avenir comme vicaire à Meudon, près de Paris, ou il y a une paroisse florissante avec une riche histoire et une vie liturgique, et où l’on prendra soin de lui comme il se doit, comme d’un archipasteur de l’Église....Suite

Возлюбленные о Господе отцы, братья и сестры!

В нынешний день праздника Курско-Коренной иконы Божией Матери сердечно приветствую всех вас с пожеланиями небесной помощи и покрова Преблагословенной Девы Богородицы! Перед этой святыней молимся сегодня за нашу паству в Западной Европе.

Благополучно вернувшись из Первопрестольного града Москвы, спешу обратиться к Вам, дорогие мои отцы, братья и сестры. Собравшись в расширенном составе в дни Архиерейского Собора Русской Православной Церкви, посвященного 100-летию восстановления Патриаршества на Руси, Архиерейский Синод Русской Зарубежной Церкви тщательно рассмотрел положение дел в Крестовоздвиженском кафедральном соборе г. Женевы и выслушал как членов архиерейской комиссии, так и самого архиепископа Михаила. Всесторонне обсудив ситуацию, архиереи соборне сочли, ради мира церковного, оставить Западно-Европейскую епархию под омофором Председателя Архиерейского Синода, назначив архиепископа Михаила викарным епископом с титулом "архиепископ Медонский". 4th Epistle of the Primate of the Russian Church Abroad to the Clergy and Flock of Elevation of the Cross Cathedral in Geneva

Dear in the Lord Fathers, Brothers and Sisters:

On this feast day of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign,” I express heartfelt greetings to all of you, wishing you the heavenly aid and protection of the Most-Blessed Virgin Mother of God. We pray today before this great icon for our flock in Western Europe.

Having returned safely from Moscow, I hasten to appeal to you, my dear fathers, brothers and sisters. Having convened in an expanded session during the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the reestablishment of the Patriarchate in Russia, the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia exhaustively examined the situation in Elevation of the Cross Cathedral in Geneva, and listened to the reports of the bishops’ committee and Archbishop Michael himself. Having deliberated on all aspects of the situation, the bishops of the council deemed that for the sake of ecclesial peace, to leave the Western European Diocese under the omophorion of the President of the Synod of Bishops, and appoint Archbishop Michael as Vicar Bishop with the title “Archbishop of Meudon.” This decision lays the foundation for reestablishment of peace and the commencement of a new period in the life of the Western European Diocese. ...Raed more[
